Corvallis, OR (March 31, 2022) – Police in Corvallis responded to the scene of a car accident on Sunday, March 27th. The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. on South 5th Street just south of Dragon Drive.
According to a report from the area, a driver was traveling northbound on 5th Street at a high rate of speed when he fell asleep at the wheel of the vehicle. The car crossed into the opposite travel lane before the car went off the road and struck a fire hydrant and a concrete wall. The car rolled onto its side before coming to rest against a power pole. A passenger in the vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment. Those involved have not been identified.
Following the crash, police cited the driver for careless and reckless driving and towed the vehicle from the scene.
