Lyons, OR – Two Dead in Car Accident on Lyons-Mill City Dr.

Lyons, OR (July 16, 2022) – Authorities in Lyons were dispatched to the scene of a deadly car accident on Saturday, July 16th. The accident happened around 2:40 a.m. in the 4700 block of Lyons-Mill City Drive.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was among the first agencies to arrive at the scene. According to deputies, a 27-year-old woman was traveling westbound on Lyons-Mill City Drive when her vehicle left the roadway. The car struck a power pole before coming to rest. Both the driver and her passenger, a 43-year-old man from Idaho, died in the crash. The occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the woman to leave the roadway. There were no other vehicles involved and no additional injuries were reported. Police have not ruled out alcohol or speeding as factors in the accident. Drivers were advised to avoid the area in the aftermath of the crash.

An investigation is underway. No further information has been released at this time.
