Newport, OR (April 30, 2022) – Officials in Newport responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident with injuries on Saturday, April 30th. The accident took place around 1:00 p.m. on Highway 101 near the intersection with NW 60th Street.
According to eyewitness reports, a juvenile was walking near the roadway on Highway 101 when they were hit by a passing vehicle. The City of Newport Fire Department, along with the Newport Police Department and Pacific West Ambulance were all called to the scene. The injured juvenile was treated and then taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. There is no other information on the cause of the collision at this time. No additional injuries were reported.
