Portland, OR (June 30, 2022) – According to reports from the McMinnville Police Department, a fatal crash involving a car and log truck occurred yesterday, Wednesday, June 29th. The accident occurred along NE Hwy 99W.
From a preliminary investigation, police discovered Michael David Page, 70, was operating a 2008 Mazda Miata and was in the process of turning southbound onto NE Highway 99W from NE Riverside Drive, when his car collided with a northbound 1993 Peterbilt log truck, driven by a 45-year-old Donald Robert Edward Skala.
McMinnville reported that Page died after the crash. Skala is reported to be not seriously injured and actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The crash happened in a construction zone which prompted the police department to remind commuters to always reduce speed and use caution in work zones.
McMinnville Police also would like to remind commuters to use caution around commercial vehicles by providing extra space, anticipating wide turns, and avoiding blind spots.
The investigation into the crash is still currently ongoing.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Michael David Page at this time.
