Portland, OR (July 18, 2022) — A pedestrian died at the scene of a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles. The incident happened Saturday morning in the Lents neighborhood of Portland. Local authorities responded to the accident at SE Holgate Blvd and 100th Ave just before 7:30 am on July 16.
Emergency crews were promptly dispatched to the scene where they pronounced the pedestrian dead.
According to official reports, one of the drivers fled on foot following the accident. Authorities immediately began a search for the suspect but were unable to locate them. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly sustained minor injuries.
The Portland Major Crash Team was dispatched to investigate the scene, during which SE Holgate was closed between SE 96th Ave and 104th Ave.
