Salem, OR — Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident With 19-year-old Driver

Salem, OR (July 1, 2022) – According to reports from authorities, a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle occurred last Sunday, June 26, 2022. The accident took place on the 4000 block of Lancaster Dr and Ibex St, near Chemeketa Community College.

The ongoing investigation is still in its early stages and police have not been able to identify all of the parties involved. At this time it is known that a 19-year-old was operating the vehicle which hit the pedestrian. The driver remains unidentified at this time.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where they applied medical treatment to those involved. According to emergency crews, the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 19-year-old driver was reported to be cooperating with investigators and remained at the scene. No known citations or arrests have been made as of now.

The investigation into the crash is still currently ongoing.
