Stayton, OR – Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Car on Cole School Rd.

Stayton, OR (April 1, 2022) – Officials in Stayton are investigating following a fatal motorcycle crash on Friday, April 1st. The accident took place around 10:00 a.m. on Cole School Road near Stayton-Scio Road.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident scene. According to a report from deputies, a 72-year-old man from Eagle Creek was traveling westbound on Stayton-Scio when he collided with a 2007 Audi that was attempting to make a left turn. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the Audi. The rider was thrown from his bike. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The driver of the Audi was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene to speak with authorities. An investigation is ongoing at this time. Police do not believe that either drugs, alcohol or speed played a role in the collision.
