Oregon Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycles present a great risk to riders. According to statistics, more than 85% of all Oregon motorcycle crashes will result in injuries to those involved. The rider of a motorcycle has less protection from the force and impact of a crash than an occupant in a larger, passenger vehicle. Motorcycle accidents are also more likely to occur at higher rates of speed, further increasing the chances that a serious injury will occur.
Typically, there are about 1,100 reported motorcycle crashes in Oregon every year and about 900 people are hurt in these accidents. The cause of each accident must be closely investigated by police. However, many accidents happen due to speed or failure to keep a proper lookout. Due to the fact that they occur so suddenly, the facts and circumstances surrounding a motorcycle accident can be murky and contested. For this reason, it is extremely important to have an attorney by your side who can investigate your case and advocate for you.
