What Is a Revocable Living Trust?
A trust is a fiduciary arrangement in which a grantor places assets to be managed by a trustee for the use and benefit of named beneficiaries. There are many different types of trusts, each with its own purpose. One of the main purposes of a revocable living trust is to manage and protect assets, and to facilitate their distribution without the need for probate.
A revocable living trust allows you to place assets into a trust while maintaining control over them. This type of trust can be changed or terminated by you during your lifetime. Upon your death, the successor trustee distributes the assets according to the instructions outlined in the trust.
